MFR (Modular Float Rail) Daniel Defense calls this handguard, in this case manufactured under license from Madbull Airsoft. The MFR concept is a modular hardguard, compact silhouette that gives the shooter the opportunity to configure to your liking the areas you want with Picatinny rail (mil spec).
While modular say, we say it in the broader sense as in the lower, left or right may put some of the tables to 45 °, 0 °, 315 °, 270 °, 225 °, 180 ° and 135 °. I mean, that with the 3 Picatinny rails provided by the MFR can be put not only on the degree radius sections if not in front or behind the handguard. This gives the shooter the opportunity to be comfortable and to reduce weight in a considerable way.
The top is not forgotten, that’s why all the top is a ris handguard numbered from start to finish, giving the possibility to switch or cover with accessories like PEQs top.
The officially licensed Daniel Defense says a lot in itself a floating handguard system does not dance or play through the adjustment delta made of steel.
Among other features worth noting is that the material is aluminum handguard 6061 T6 high-strength, low-weight, anodized black paint equal to that used in actual firearms Teflon coated.

Well presented packaging carton may contain other products, but is perfectly marked on the outside what is presented in the interior. The ris handguard and screws are tightly packed so they do not get scratched or lost.
The version that we have evaluated is the 9-inch, ideal for a M4a1 as such. Also present versions of 7 «and 12» in black and TAN.
Beyond configured in varying degrees to the Picatinny rails also has different distances along the handguard to place them. Each table Picatinny occupies 2 modules for the screws.
Licenses and markings are laser engraved, hard to remove the Teflon coating on the black paint. We can see the left side of the handguard «Manufactured Under License From Daniel Defense, Inc, Licensor».
On the right is seen MFR 9 «indicating the long,» Daniel Defense Inc, Back Creek, GA, USA «as well as the original
So is pre-assembled internal clamping ring, grabbed by the allem seen in the photograph. This ring will engage the delta thread that goes in the upper body for the float system.
The income allem floating locking system has an input of 45 °, for a total of 4 screws holding perfectly fixed allem the handguard.
The higher ris ris is continuous over the ar15 body (or similar models). Distances are also recorded laser. The count takes into account what happens ris.
Looking from the rear to Madbull DD MFR you can see what we mentioned before, the pre-assembled clamp ring and passing spaces as well screw coupling with the delta or barrel nut.
At the bottom, in the cutting edge is ribbed for perfect fit on the lower body of the replica.
On the front we see that the edges are not edges are rounded and smooth. Internally also sees modular spaces Picatinny tables are perfectly aligned.
The painting is very well made, a black matte anodized and Teflon as the real version.
This is the Delta or the barrel nut that will fit in the replica, is steel and can tell the «ladder» in which engages with washer pre-assembled in the handguard and where the screws will work so exp.
These obstacles in L will be put on the inside of the handguard to be fixed from the outside with other screws so exp. They are steel.
The head will be so exp for Picatinny, the Headless be to adjust the floating system.
The Madbull DD MFR is supplied by three Picatinny rails also painted matte black, anodized and Teflon. Are the same size and have 8 segments in total.
Assemble
Worth mentioning that the MFR assemble a replica King Arms wired forward wiring is ideal to use one back, but it served to verify that even if we have the cable in the front, the adjusting nut allows cable passage and could use a PEQ battery.
The first step then everyone will colorcar the Delta or adjusting nut till you drop.
Then think and install Picatinny rails on handguard, where we seem more comfortable. Ideally, install the rails is putting so exp L and loose, wiping the handguard segments, accommodate them at ease and then adjust. The L will then adjust pressure from the inside against the handguard reliefs together at the rear of the ris.
Then we took the handguard back, matching the internal washer and nut. Once installed in the background we proceed to put the 4 screws allem an angle of 45 °.
And presto! We have installed the Daniel Defense MFR handguard 9 «in our reply. We can put both AEG’s and GBB’s in!
It is a very interesting model, lightweight and simply practical for every type of shooter. It enables us to reduce weight and have a profile when much smaller target sideways. The continuity that gives the upper ris as ribbed bottom allows exit from the mirror makes it very aesthetically. During the review we scratched the paint and did not jump through Teflon protection.
VERY good handguard.
Now it’s time to put accessories!
